Wanted Kansas fugitive arrested at Colorado City hotel
(COLORADO CITY, Colo.) — The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office (PCSO) helped capture a wanted fugitive out of Kansas on Monday morning, June 24, at a Colorado City hotel.
According to PCSO, a tip was received stating that 40-year-old Ryan Antalek of Wichita, Kansas was possibly staying at the Days Inn in Colorado City. PCSO said Kansas officials had been seeking Antalek, who was considered dangerous, on a felony warrant. The search for Antalek had recently intensified due to homicidal statements Antalek had allegedly made.
PCSO said Antalek was also known to carry guns and had a criminal history involving weapons.
PCSO detectives responded around 12:30 a.m. to the Days Inn off Highway 165 and found a 2019 black Chevrolet Colorado truck that Antalek had reportedly been driving. After confirming that Antalek was inside the hotel, detectives and U.S. Marshals managed to get Antalek to leave his hotel room, at which point he was taken into custody without incident.
PCSO said Antalek was arrested on a no-bond Fugitive of Justice warrant from Kansas that includes Felony Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Criminal Discharge of a Firearm into a Dwelling, Felony Stalking, Felony Fleeing and Eluding, and two charges of Criminal Threats and Criminal Damage to Property.
Antalek has been booked into the Pueblo County Jail where he awaits extradition to Kansas.
