Diamond move to 2-0 in second week of Hoopsfix Pro-Am
Team Diamond remain the only undefeated team in the Women’s Hoopsfix Pro-Am, after the completion of Week 2 on Sunday at Brixton Rec, South London.
It was a week of blowouts, with Diamond registering a 69-49 win over Emerald, before Sapphire took down Ruby 77-49.
The opening game of the day saw Georgia Gayle make her 2024 debut, putting in a dominant performance on her way to 25 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals, supplemented by 14 from Tyra Phelan s Diamond jumped out to a big lead from early and never looked back.
Shanice Beckford-Norton – also making her 2024 debut – stepped into help a short-handed Emerald side, finishing with 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Beckford-Norton went back to back, suiting up for Sapphire – her original team, registering 25 points on 8/10 shooting to lead them to a rout of Ruby, pairing up with backcourt teammate Anna Nevison who finished with 20 going 6 of 8 from three.
