1 hospitalized, 10 displaced after Hillsboro duplex fire
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- One person was hospitalized and 10 people were displaced thanks to a duplex fire in Hillsboro, authorities said.
According to Hillsboro Fire & Rescue, late Monday night they received several calls from neighbors who reported a fire in the home.
Upon arrival, fire officials said they found the back of the house engulfed. Crews worked to take down the fire including cutting ventilation holes in the roof to help clear smoke.
Once the fire was out, firefighters said they searched the house, finding one person who needed medical attention and they were taken to a hospital. No other injuries were reported.
In total, 10 people were displaced by the fire and Hillsboro Public Safety chaplains are helping them.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
