Outdoor retailer sets opening date in Colonie Center

COLONIE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Sierra, an activewear and outdoor gear store, has set its grand opening date in Colonie Center. According to Brandon Reynolds, manager for the new Colonie Center store, Sierra will be opening on August 10.

The store will be in the former Sears space next to Whole Foods and Floor & Decor. Sierra sells athletic clothing, shoes, and accessories for all ages, and has gear for water sports, fishing, running, camping, biking, and hiking. You can view the full product list on the Sierra website.

To celebrate the grand opening, Sierra will have a live DJ, free gift cards for customers to find, and are planning to donate $10,000 to a local charity. Sierra will be open 8 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. for the grand opening, and then from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.

Originally named Sierra Trading Post, Sierra was acquired by TJX in 2012 and rebranded to Sierra in 2018. TJX also owns TJ Maxx, HomeGoods, and Marshalls.
