2 dead, 12 hospitalized in Pittstown crash on Sunday
PITTSTOWN, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Rensselaer County Sheriff's Office reported that there was a three-car crash in Pittstown on Sunday. This crash happened near the Tomhannock Reservoir and closed down that section of Route 7 for some time.
Deputies say that between the three cars, there was a total of 14 people. The crash occurred when a car traveling westbound on Route 7 veered into oncoming traffic, sideswiped the first car, and hit the second car head-on.
Two of the passengers involved in the crash were pronounced dead at the scene. The other 12 people involved in the crash were sent to Albany Medical Center with injuries.
