Birla (61) is a three-time MP from Kota and has served in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly thrice. This marks the fifth instance of a Speaker being elected for a second consecutive term. Balram Jakhar remains the only presiding officer to have served two complete terms during the Seventh and Eighth Lok Sabha.
