FORECAST DISCUSSION:
Good Tuesday Evening,
Tonight, expect a few clouds to work through, but with increasing humidity, temps will not be as comfortable, and lows will drop into the lower 70s.
Wednesday will start off nice, with sunshine and few clouds and temps soaring to the upper 80s by lunchtime. Expect a few isolated storms to pop up in the afternoon with better chances of storms into the evening hours before and after sunset. Some of these storms, especially between about 5-9pm could be strong to severe, with gusty winds being the main threat.
Outside of that, expect that any rain that does pop-up, could for sure produce lightning, which is a big concern for Red, White, and Boom with so many of us getting out and ready for the fireworks. Remember, if you hear thunder, you want to head indoors. In addition, highs will be on the hot side on Wednesday as we will surge into the lower 90s, with heat index values approaching 100°.
Thursday, for the 4th of July, the cold front that attempted to push through our area, will be close enough to keep rain chances in our forecast throughout the day on Thursday. In fact, the front will stall to our south, and then begin to lift northward heading into Thursday night, with highs in the middle 80s.
Rain and storms will remain in the forecast for Friday as the front will continue to lift north, ahead of a secondary cold front that that will approach and move through overnight into early Saturday morning. Temps on Friday will remain in the middle 80s. Expect showers to end early on Saturday, with clearing skies and highs in the middle 80s.
Sunday should be a great day with sunshine and highs in the mid to upper 80s. We will stay in the upper 80s to near 90 on Monday with mostly sunny skies. Expect scattered rain and storms to return with cooler temps next Tuesday.
