Man Utd want to sell player who played 43 times last term after fallout with Ten Hag - report
Manchester United are ready to sell Marcus Rashford this summer and will listen to offers for him after his relationship with manager Erik ten Hag broke down, according to the Sun.
The duo do not see eye-to-eye and were barely on speaking terms towards the end of last season after the forward defied the Dutchman.
Man United will want £80 million for Rashford but may have to accept nearer £60m following his drop in form last season.
The 26-year-old bagged 30 goals in 2022-23 but only scored eight times in 43 games last term.
Some of Rashford’s conduct off the pitch did not go down well with Ten Hag. He warned him after he partied at a city centre nightspot following the 3-0 loss to Manchester City ahead of his birthday last October.
However, Rashford was at it again in January, partying until the early hours of a training session two days before the FA Cup tie at Newport County.
He called in sick but Ten Hag found out the truth and axed him from the squad for the game.
Ten Hag’s exit would have presented Rashford with a clean slate, but that did not happen and he could now be on his way out of the club.
The Red Devils are already looking to strengthen their attacking ranks, with a move for Bologna striker Joshua Zirkzee reportedly inching closer to completion.
Selling Rashford cannot be ruled out as he is no longer untouchable, and his fallout with Ten Hag coupled with his drop in form has not helped his cause.
Paris Saint-Germain were previously linked with him and could make a move after losing Kylian Mbappe this summer.
The Man United star will not be short of suitors once it is made clear he is up for sale, and a summer exit could be on the cards.
