City of Crowley hosts Red, Rice and Blue Celebration
CROWLEY, La. (KLFY)-- The city of Crowley hosted its second annual Red, Rice and Blue at the Acadia Rice Arena in celebration of the 4th of July.
"We want our people to have something to do, and we also want to invite others from outside of our city to come and visit with us and come enjoy the Independence Day today," Crowley Mayor Chad Monceaux said.
People enjoyed a cook-off, fun jumps, vendors and live performances from Alex Touchet, Adam Leger and Wayne Toups.
Red, Rice and Blue ended with a firework show display funded by the event's sponsors.
Alicia Brady attended the event last year with her daughter and enjoyed it so much that she decided to return for the second year to participate in the cookoff earlier that day.
"We decided to participate in the cook-off this year just to show a little more support, and it's just a fun time to be able to just give back and see everyone else," Brady said.
