Man severs finger during Long Island fireworks mishap on Fourth of July: SCPD
PORT JEFFERSON STATION, N.Y. (PIX11) – A man severed one of his fingers during a fireworks mishap on Long Island during the Fourth of July, according to the Suffolk County Police Department.
It happened around 10 p.m. on Foxrun Court in Port Jefferson Station. A large group of people was watching fireworks at a house when one of the fireworks went astray, injuring two men, a woman and an 8-year-old child, according to authorities.
A 30-year-old man is being treated for burns and a severed finger, according to authorities. A 38-year-old man is also being treated for burns and a serious leg injury.
A 30-year-old woman and the 8-year-old girl were treated for minor injuries, according to authorities.
Several cars parked on the block were also damaged, per police.
