I spent hundreds on eczema creams & half of them made my skin worse – then I found a £1.50 Boots buy
THERE are many people who struggle with skincare breaking them out or irritating skin conditions they already have.
However, sometimes you find a product that just works, and it’s a bonus if it doesn’t cost the earth.
This is what Emily, who posts under the username @emmichelle25 on TikTok, found with a Boots own-brand moisturiser.
And the best bit? It only costs £1.50.
Sharing her find in a recent video, she explains she has been on holiday and the sea air has really helped her skin and jokes she often thinks about moving to a warmer climate when it’s cold in England.
However, the sea air alone hasn’t transformed her skin.
“I just wanted to share this product,” she says.
“This is Boots’ own sensitive skin moisturiser.
“When I tell you I tried so many creams and ointments, I probably spent like £300, and none of them worked.
“A lot of them actually made it worse.”
Emily continues by saying it’s a “very basic moisturiser” but it’s one of the only creams she has tried that doesn’t irritate her sensitive skin.
“You sensitive skin girlies, try and get your hands on it.
“It’s not going to change your life, but it is definitely worth it for £1.50” she concludes.
People took to the comments to share their love for the skincare product.
“I used to use this [and] I felt the same,” wrote one person.
Another penned: “I’ve used that cream for yearsss!! Swear by it.”

On their website, Boots bosses describe it as “enriched with vitamins to gently care for your skin.
“[It] is perfect for you to use both day and night. Leaving you with hydrated, nourished and beautifully soft skin.”
The moisturiser is vegan and not tested on animals.
Reviews on the Boots website echo Emily’s praise.

“With this cream, my skin feels hydrated all day. Also, even though it is very moisturising, it sinks in really well, so your skin doesn’t feel greasy.
More eczema remedies
Eczema can be a real pain and cause itchiness, soreness, and severely dry skin.
But it’s not just creams that can help with your eczema, you can also use home remedies too.
Healthline suggests an oatmeal bath. Using colloidal oatmeal, which is a fine powder, you can help soothe itching and protect your skin.
To make your bath, Healthline says:
- Start running lukewarm water into a clean bathtub. Be sure it’s warm; hot water can aggravate inflamed skin and draw moisture from your skin.
- Add about 1 cup — the amount might vary based on the size of your tub — colloidal oatmeal under the running tap to help mix it in with the bathwater.
- As you continue to fill the tub, mix the oatmeal with your hand.
- Once the water has reached the proper level, the water should be milky and feel silky on your skin.
Other natural remedies include applying manuka honey, a number of oils including Evening Primrose, cocnut, and sunflower oil, and witch hazel.
Your diet can have an impact on flare-ups, studies have found. Foods that may help include:
- fatty fish
- yogurt
- sourdough bread
- apples
- broccoli
- spinach
Finally, stress and anxiety can also be triggers to flare-ups. You can try yoga, meditation, music therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy..
