A Ryanair flight from the UK to Tenerife was diverted mid-air after a ‘disruptive’ passenger caused problems to the crew.
Tourists had their holiday plans delayed after their flight from Liverpool to the island of Tenerife was disrupted over Spain.
One rowdy passenger reportedly caused grey hairs to the Ryanair crew on Wednesday evening.
The crew called the police on the holidaymaker before diverting the flight from its original destination, according to the Sun.
The plane was on its way from Liverpool to Tenerife when it was forced to make an emergency landing at Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain.

The Boeing 737 crew contacted the Spanish airport about a ‘conflictive passenger on board’ before it ‘had to divert’ to Santiago de Compostela, the outlet reports citing local air control’s post on X (formerly Twitter).
When the plane landed, emergency services were waiting on the tarmac as the crew had ‘called ahead for police assistance,’ a spokesperson for Ryanair said.
They told Metro.co.uk: ‘This flight from Liverpool to Tenerife (4 Jul) diverted to Santiago after a passenger became disruptive onboard. Crew called ahead for police assistance and the aircraft was met by local police upon arrival who removed this passenger before this flight continued to Tenerife.
‘This is now a matter for local police.’
It is not known whether any arrests were made.
The disruption comes just hours after an EasyJet flight from Gatwick Airport to Tenerife was forced to return and make an emergency landing following a ‘hydraulic failure’ over Bay of Biscay.
Some passengers claimed a group of tourists were being disruptive, with air crew reportedly telling them that ‘unruly behaviour’ would get them kicked out from the replacement flight.
