I’m a beauty lover & can transform into a ‘completely different person’ – trolls slate me for it but ‘that’s the point’
A TALENTED beauty lover has hit back at the trolls who reckon she looks like a ”completely different person” with make-up on.
The power of make-up is incredible – a little concealer and you can mask the one too many drinks the night before, or a more heavy look that can change your appearance entirely.
Make-up can in deed change one’s appearance – and one woman’s makeover serves as proof[/caption] Scroll down to see what the stunner looks like without the heavy make-up[/caption]Someone who was recently said to belong in the latter category is mum and beauty enthusiast Rickquell Flowers, from the USA.
The stunning blonde (@rickquellflowers) regularly shares make-up-related content on her page, often uploading dramatic transformations.
In one such recent clip, the beauty stunned her 62k followers and social media users with a jaw-dropping makeover – and it was so intense, some refused to believe it was the same person.
At first, TikTok users could see what the gorgeous mum looked like naturally, her skin fresh and covered in adorable freckles, and eyebrows neatly plucked.
But once the heavy make-up had been put on, viewers struggled to recognise the stunner, who had completed the transformation with a chic sleek bun.
Rickquell’s base looked absolutely flawless, consisting of a dewy foundation, a healthy dose of blush on her cheeks, blinding highlighter and contour that snatched her face.
Meanwhile, the sultry eyes were paired with a sexy eyeliner, fluttery falsies that went perfect with the silver highlighter in the inner corners.
The stylish mum, who paired the look with golden jewellery, completed the makeover with a nude glossy pout.
The video soon took the internet by storm, racking up over 316k views in less than a week, as thousands raced to comments in total disbelief.
”Completely different person,” wrote one gobsmacked user who thought the mum no longer looked like her natural self.
Someone else begged for advice, writing: ”I want to look like a completely different person, but I always look the same when I do my makeup.”
Another compared the stunner to the Sex in the City star, played by Sarah Jessica Parker.
”You remind me of Carrie Bradshaw.”
”I dislocated my jaw from it dropping so hard. You are so gorgeous,” a fourth chimed in.
Biggest beauty mistakes
Fabulous' Beauty Editor Tara Ledden has shared the do's and don'ts when it comes to beauty.
“No matter how much time and money you spend on your beauty routine, if you’re not getting the basics right, the rest is wasted.
“There aren’t many non-negotiables, but these are the biggest beauty mistakes sabotaging your regime.”
- Not wearing SPF: Sun-damage is the main cause of premature skin ageing, so if you want to keep your skin looking plump and glowing, sun cream is vital.
- Using expired products: Best case, they’re ineffective and don’t deliver the results they promise, worst case they cause irritation and infection. The shelf life of beauty products differ – for example, mascara is usually good for 3-6 months while lipstick can last for 9-18 months. Check the ‘POA’ symbol on the packaging (it looks like a jar and will have a number inside for how many months it’s safe once opened. If you can’t remember when you opened your product, throw it away and start again, marking the month and year with a permanent marker on the packaging.
- Not knowing your undertones: If you’re using make-up with the wrong undertones, it’ll never look natural no matter how much you blend it! An easy trick to work out whether you have cool, warm or neutral undertones is to check the veins on your wrist – if they look blue, you have cool undertones, if they’re green, you have warm and if they’re a mix you have neutral.
- Skipping heat protector: It might feel unnecessary, but much like sun damage on the skin, excess heat is the most common cause of hair damage. So, if you want shiny, healthy hair, or you’re trying to grow it longer, using a heat protection product is key.
- Not washing your face before bed: it’s as simple as this, if you’re not washing your face before you go to sleep, everything that’s been on your skin during the day is sitting there for even longer, clogging your pores and drying out the surface. Any skincare applied on top isn’t going to be effective with a layer of dirt underneath, and you’re probably going to end up with dirty pillows too – yuck!
But despite many insisting she had totally revamped her appearance, the mother didn’t seem to mind the harsh remarks – and even hit back at the bullies.
”That’s the point,” she proudly replied to those thinking she didn’t look like herself.
