The organization known as Afghanistan Polio-Free has announced that a polio vaccination campaign is set to begin in several provinces of the country in two days.

The organization stated in a message on Saturday, July 6th, that the polio vaccination campaign will commence on Monday, July 8th.

Afghanistan Polio-Free has not provided details on which provinces the campaign will be conducted in or the number of children expected to receive vaccinations.

Previously, the Ministry of Public Health of had announced that over 10 million children across the country have received the polio vaccine.

This comes as five cases of polio have been reported in the provinces of Nuristan, Kandahar, Herat, and Ghazni since the beginning of the current solar year.

It is noteworthy that Afghanistan and Pakistan are the only two countries in the world where polio has not yet been eradicated.
