Triple-digit temps expected once again in Portland

Until we get to mid-way through out week, try and stay cool while we are still under this Excessive Heat Warning through Tuesday night.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Sunday was the day we hit 100 degrees for the first time this year in Portland. After flirting with triple digits for the past two days -- topping out at 99 -- we maxed out at 100 degrees Sunday for our daytime high here in Portland. 

It was also another record-setting day.

We've now broken daytime high records for three consecutive days in Portland and will look to make it five straight with the forecast for Monday and Tuesday calling for Portland to once again reach the low-100s.

And PDX wasn't the only shattering records.

Here's a list of record highs or tied record highs for Sunday, July 7 --

• Portland, OR ---> 100 degrees (previous record was 95 set back in 2010)
• Vancouver, WA ---> 100 degrees (previous record was 97 set back in 1920)
• Hillsboro, OR ---> 99 degrees (previous record 98 set back in 1931)
• McMinnville, OR ---> 99 degrees (TIED previous record 99 in 1920)
• Salem, OR ---> 103 degrees (previous record 100 in 1945)
• Eugene, OR ---> 103 degrees (previous record 98 in 1945)

Temps will then start to "cool" into the upper-80s to lower-90s by Wednesday and Thursday as we still sit above normal for those daytime highs.  Our average high for this time in July is 80 degrees.
