See the heartwarming moment Jayson Tatum and A'ja Wilson learned they'd be NBA 2K25 cover stars

Jayson Tatum and A’ja Wilson are the cover athletes for NBA 2K25, and in new footage, both athletes revealed the special way they learned about their new honor.

On The Old Man & The Three podcast, guest host Sue Bird spoke with Jayson and A’ja about a number of topics, including being on the cover of NBA 2K. Sue asked them what was going through their minds when they learned the news, and both stories are actually pretty dope.

Jayson reveals that his son, Deuce, was involved in the process, and A’ja shared her hysterically relatable thoughts upon finding out from her agent. (See the clip below and the 36:01 mark of the YouTube video. Warning: NSFW language.)

Here’s part of what Jayson told Sue:

“I actually like got teary-eyed. I kind of cried a little bit. Just because I feel like I’m very blessed and fortunate that when I was younger, I had so many dreams and goals and so many things that I wanted to check off, and it’s like I’m experiencing those things in real-time…”

This is what A’ja shared:

“For me, my agent called, and she’s like, ‘Hey, you’re going to be on the cover.’ And, I was like, ‘Oh, wait. No.’…Like ‘About time, Ronnie. [Expletive] it.’
