Woman dead after being hit by fallen tree in Southeast DC

A woman is dead after being struck by a fallen tree in the Capitol Hill area in D.C. Wednesday morning.
Fire officials said they started receiving reports of a woman trapped under a tree at Garfield Park in Southeast just before 7:30 a.m.
When first responders arrived, they found an unidentified woman trapped under a tree.
The woman was declared dead as officials began working to remove the tree that landed on top of her.
Investigators are still working to figure out exactly what happened.
