The Argentine media have once again sung the praises of Cristian Romero after the Tottenham defender helped the defending champions ease into the Copa America final.

Cristian Romero has continued his impressive form
After waiting years for the Copa America title, Argentina now have the chance to win the trophy back-to-back, with the Albiceleste marching to the final after brushing aside Canada 2-0 in the semi-final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Tuesday.
Lionel Scaloni’s men will now face Colombia in the final at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami this Sunday, with Romero and his teammates having the opportunity to write their names into the history books by retaining the trophy.
The World Cup holders have got this far on the back of their solid defensive organisation, with the Tottenham man marshalling the backline impressively all tournament.

As they have been throughout the competition, TyC Sports were once again complementary of Romero for his flawless display.
They wrote: “Without standing out so much, he was once again the one who would bring the crowd to their feet with a tackle or a save.”
Meanwhile, Bola VIP said about the 26-year-old: “A real guarantee in Argentina’s back line. He won almost all the duels and offered a clear outlet with the ball at his feet.”

If Cristian Romero does help Argentina get their hands on the trophy again, the clamour will grow in the South American nation’s media about the centre-back potentially joining one of the best sides in Europe.
Tottenham have to show this season that they can challenge for major trophies if they are to ensure that the centre-back’s head is not turned by future offers.
Romero is likely to be the sole representative for Tottenham with Argentina next season considering Giovani Lo Celso is tipped to leave the club.
