Meet The Oasis: Topeka's motorhome turned mobile bar
TOPEKA (KSNT) - A new mobile bar specializing in the delivery of mixed drinks is hitting Topeka's streets this month, courtesy of a local event space.
KSNT 27 News spoke with Sasha Conrade, experience manager at The Beacon, about the Airstream Excella motorhome turned bar on wheels.
Bearing the title "The Oasis," this unconventional combination of food truck and cocktail bar is available for bookings at local events like weddings, festivals and more.
"Its a 34-foot Airstream camper that we've completely taken apart and turned into a mobile bar," Conrade said. "There's two large serving windows you'd approach just like a food truck."
Conrade said The Oasis will serve the greater Topeka area along with Emporia, Manhattan and Lawrence. Guests are able to purchase a variety of drinks from the mobile bar which features two signature drinks, wine, liquor, mixers and draft beer.
"We're willing to work with clients," Conrade said. "As simple or artisanal as they'd like to go."
The idea of turning a big aluminum-covered Airstream Excella came after The Beacon began looking for a way to go mobile with its event services. With this, The Beacon is able to reach clients at a variety of locations and provide drinks on-site.
"We completely took everything out," Conrade said. "There's new flooring, new walls, new everything. Its been completely reconstructed."
Conrade said you can learn more about what The Oasis has to offer by visiting its website. You can also keep track of it by following The Beacon's Facebook or Instagram account for the mobile bar.
The Oasis will be present at Skinners Garden Store in Topeka from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 13 at 4237 NW Lower Silver Lake Road. It will also be at Blooms On Boswell from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16 at 1300 SW Boswell Avenue.
The Beacon is located at 420 southwest Ninth Street in Topeka. You can learn more about the event space by clicking here or calling 785-409-6715.
