ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The restaurant industry is ever-changing with restaurants opening, closing, relocating, or just doing their thing. Here’s a recap of the latest Capital Region restaurant news, July 8 through 12.
These are the inspections from July 1 to 5 reported by the NYSDOH divided up by critical violations, non-critical violations, and no violations. You can find a list of all restaurant inspections for the last several years on the NYSDOH website.
Mystic Momo is bringing its Nepali cuisine to the Capital Region. The restaurant, located at 40 Central Avenue in Albany, officially opened on Saturday, July 6.
You’d be hard pressed to find a Capital Region native who hasn’t been to–or driven by, at the very least–a Ted’s Fish Fry. The commercial jingle is a crowd pleaser, and the $0.75 fish fry being served for the local chain’s 75th anniversary is just as popular.
The second annual Tater Trot is being held in downtown Schenectady on Saturday, July 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participating restaurants will be offering potato dish samples for $1 each.

Pop’s Pizza, located at 148 Columbia Street in Cohoes, is closing its doors after 14 years. Pop’s Pizza made the announcement on its Facebook page on July 11.
