Man dead in shooting at Sellwood Riverfront Park, witnesses sought

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- A man is dead after a shooting in Sellwood Riverfront Park late Friday night, authorities said.
Just after 11:15 p.m., Portland police officers responded to a report that someone had been shot in the park. On arrival, they found a man dead at the scene.
Any possible suspects had left the area before police arrived and no arrests have been made, officials said.
During the investigation, Southeast Oaks Park Way was closed at Southeast Spokane Street.
Portland police say they believe many potential witnesses were in the area at the time of the shooting and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward.
No further information - including the victim's identity - has been released at this time.
