Temperatures rising Saturday across Oregon
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – This is the weekend to get outside and enjoy the sunshine. While considered hot by early summer standards, the low 90s will feel great compared to last weekend's records in the low 100s. Yet, heat-related illness is still a reality for some across Oregon.
The heat risk assessment map by NOAA shows how the heat will affect you based on your location. For the Willamette Valley, you can see the low 90s will put us at moderate risk for heat-related impacts.
As we are expected to stay in the low 90s on Saturday and just a few degrees cooler on Sunday, keep in mind some parts of the state will still feel extremely hot.
A heat advisory will be in effect for the eastern Columbia River Gorge until Sunday night.
Temperatures ranging from 95-105 degrees are expected. This kind of heat could lead to heat-related illness for those who cannot find a place to cool off. An excessive heat warning will be in effect this weekend for portions of eastern Oregon for temps in the low 100s.
