Argentina, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore secure Play-Offs spots; matchups set on Saturday

Singapore stays in the Play-Offs hunt with back-to-back wins over Israel and Hong Kong, China. Argentina’s Franco Ortellado hit three home runs against Hong Kong, China, securing his team’s third consecutive win. New Zealand and Canada also clinched Play-Off spots with 4-0 and 2-2 records, respectively. Play-Offs matchups will be determined on Saturday.

Friday’s results at Prime Ministers’ Park Rotary Field have determined the four teams advancing to the Play-Offs of the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup Group B: Argentina (3-0), New Zealand (3-0), Canada (2-2), and Singapore (2-2). However, the final standings in the Opening Round, to be decided after Saturday’s games, will determine the Play-Offs matchups.
