A key intelligence input was overlooked by the US Secret Service. Though, there is no Iranian hand in Trump’s assassination attempt, the input did indicate that the country will seek to assassinate the former president. Iran has been labelled a ‘rogue nation’ by the US and may have the motive to kill Trump. The security lapses are being investigated.
