ASX rises after US stock rally broadens; gold hits record

The Australian sharemarket rose at the open after US stocks hit all-time highs as the Trump Trade continued to boost share prices and bets the Federal Reserve will soon start cutting rates fuelled a rush into riskier corners of the market.
