Starting today, a stormy pattern for Acadiana will last for several days and could bring heavy bouts of rain at times. A few coastal storms are possible this morning followed by widespread scattered storms during the afternoon as rain chances increase to 50-60%. Severe weather is not expected and the risk for flash flooding should remain low but localized. The additional clouds and rain will hold the heat down a little as highs stay closer to the lower 90s.

Scattered rain is expected to be likely each afternoon for at least the next week. Overall, rainfall totals over the next 5 days could near 5 inches or more in isolated areas.
