GOOD Morning Britain has been slammed by Ofcom complaints following Susanna Reid’s heated clash with a guest.
Last week Susanna, 53, and her Good Morning Britain co-host Ed Balls were joined by Reform UK chairman Richard Tice and she wasted no time in grilling him over his party’s stance.
But her interview with the politician didn’t go down well with everyone, with 58 viewers complaining to broadcasting regulator Ofcom over her comments.
Susanna told Richard, 59: “Your party got a huge number of votes – four million across the board and just five MPs as a result. But you were responsible for getting rid of a huge number of Conservative MPs and candidates.”
When Richard sarcastically replied, “oh, that’s a shame…” Susanna hit back: “Was your aim to destroy the Conservatives because you took a very different tack in this election compared to the last general election?
“Was your aim to elect a Labour government?”
Richard quipped: “Our aim was to present to the British people a proper common sense series of policies and words spread and people in their millions decided to vote for us – that’s a great thing for democracy.”
Viewers rushed to social media to have their say on the interview, and Susanna didn’t come off well.
One wrote: “Terrible interview- no impartiality at all.”
Another said: “Turned off can’t stand the contempt by these presenters to any opposition to Labour.”
And a third added: “This was class Reid balls it right up.”
It comes after GMB was hit by more than 1,500 Ofcom complaints last month over Richard Madeley’s XL Bully dogs debate.
Mike Parry and Kay Taiwo appeared on GMB to discuss whether the divisive dog breed was as dangerous as people make them out to be.
Things got so out of hand that presenters Richard and co-host Ranvir Singh struggled to diffuse the situation between the warring pair.
Following the scenes airing, a staggering 1,634 complaints were made to Ofcom.
