‘I’m a teacher and would LOVE this’ woman says, as mum shows off £5 end-of-school boxes she made from B&M for gifts
A MUM has shared the bargain end-of-term gift she made for her kid’s teachers using £5 B&M bargains.
Cathryn, who posts under @cathrynlaurawood, showed how she compiled miniature afternoon tea kits for staff.
In a video which has racked up over 1,800 likes, she shared: “I said I wasn’t gonna do any more of these, but I found a cute box.
“Let me show you exactly how I’ve used this box and where I got it from.
“These are two cupcake boxes that come with the insert. You obviously don’t need to use those.
“These are from B&M and they were £2.50 for two.”
Cathryn showed how she put thick card in the bottom to stop the “heavy” jam and Prosecco falling though.
The mum continued: “So yeah, then I put in some napkins and some tissue paper just because this was a bigger box, just to fill it a little bit more.
“Then we put the afternoon tea stuff in: scones, the prosecco, the jam, and some tea bags in this one.
“I forgot to pick up the cream this morning, so I need to go back out and get that, but anyway, the cream will be going in here.
“This was just to show you what it would look like.
Then I pop the cover on and stick a bow on it. Wonderful! Done!”
For those asking about where she got the mini Prosecco bottles from, she said she found £1.50 ones at Savers.
Many people were quick to praise the idea, including some teachers.

Lots of parents said they would be copying the end-of-term gifts for their own kid’s schools.

“I also wouldn’t want my children to feel left out when their friends arrive at school armed with pressies for their teachers.
“While some parents go all out with gifts, with alcohol and flowers popular choices, I’ll be doing my best to stay at the £5 mark for each of the four staff members I’ll be buying for.
“And with some fab options in stores like Poundland, Home Bargains and B&M, it should be easy for me to stick to my budget.”

Sidnie confirmed that whilst she and many of her teacher friends don’t want to receive candles, they also can’t stand teacher mugs either.
Instead, Sidnie continued: “What they do want is cash and gift cards – Target gift cards, coffee gift cards, cash – please, do that.
“Even a handwritten note is better than junk.”
Sidnie later wrote: “If you know them well and you know they like something specific that’s great! But if you don’t, cash and gift cards are best.”
