'Spider-Man 4' Update: Kevin Feige Teases New Tom Holland Movie, Talks Introducing the X-Men to MCU
Marvel head Kevin Feige teased some big details about two of the MCU’s most anticipated new projects – Tom Holland‘s fourth Spider-Man movie and the introduction of the X-Men to the universe.
It’s been three years now since Tom last suited up as everyone’s favorite web-slinging hero for Spider-Man: No Way Home, which also featured previous Spider-Man actors Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire.
Tom has previously made it clear that he was willing to do a fourth movie in the franchise. However, details about the project were sparse.
In a series of interview, Kevin provided some exciting updates about the movie. He also opened up about which X-Men we might see entering the universe moving forward.

Speaking to Gizmodo, Kevin confirmed that Spider-Man 4 was in development.
“Amy [Pascal, who produced multiple Spider-Man movies] and I are working on it,” he promised. “We have writers who are going to be delivering us a draft relatively soon.”
One thing that will be different about the movie is that fans likely won’t be seeing Jon Watts in the director’s chair this time around. If you were unaware, he directed all three of Tom‘s standalone movies in the franchise.
“We love Jon. Jon did three of the best Spider-Man films ever for us. He’s got lots of things going on now. So we’ll probably be looking for somebody else, just because he’s busy,” Kevin told CinemaBlend.
When asked about the arrival of mutants, Kevin said that it was going to be so hard to decide which heroes will be featured.
“Well, it’s that phrase we use often at Marvel, which is ‘It’s an embarrassment of riches,’” he told Gizmodo. “And there are a lot of great X-Men characters in the Deadpool & Wolverine film. There are a lot of great X-Men characters in all of the Fox versions of the X-Men films. And there are a lot of great X-Men characters that have never gone on the big screen. So I think as we always try to do, as we did when we made the arrangement with Sony for Spider-Man, you’ll probably see a mix of characters you’ve seen before and characters you’ve never seen before.”
He continued, saying that he was looking forward to introducing “the soap opera elements of that world” to the MCU.
