Pakistan to block passports of individuals involved in Frankfurt consulate attack

The Pakistani Minister of Information has announced that the passports and identification cards of Pakistani citizens involved in the attack on the country’s consulate in Frankfurt, Germany, will be blocked.

Ata Tarar stated that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, led by Imran Khan, might have played a role in inciting the attack on the consulate.

The PTI, led by Imran Khan, has not yet responded to these allegations.

Previously, the Pakistani Foreign Ministry officially condemned the attack, labeling it as the work of an “extremist gang.” The ministry criticized both the attack on its consulate in Frankfurt and the “failure of German authorities to protect the sanctity and security” of diplomatic sites.

The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has requested the German government to arrest the perpetrators of the attack immediately.

On Saturday, July 20, protesters entered the premises of the Pakistani consulate in Frankfurt and threw stones at the building. This incident occurred during demonstrations by supporters of the Pashtun Tahafuz Movement in Frankfurt.

A German media outlet, citing Frankfurt police, reported that Germany will make every effort to clarify the situation.

The attack on the Pakistani consulate in Frankfurt underscores rising tensions and challenges in diplomatic relations. The Pakistani government’s decision to block passports and identify those involved signals a firm stance against such violence.
