HER dance anthem Broken Bones became a global smash hit and now almost 30 years on from the songs release, singer, Simone Denny has hardly aged a day.

The singer regularly posts images of herself performing on social media and with her youthful unlined skin, few could deny that she’s changed much since her 90s heyday.

Born in Toronto, Canada, Simone Denny first trained as an opera singer but chose to pursue pop music instead.

After a chance meeting with DJ Chris Sheppard, she provided guest vocals for his band, before they agreed to collaborate on on a new dance group- Love Inc.

In 1998 they released their debut album, which spawned the chart hits Broken Bones and You are a Superstar.

Broken Bones won the Juno Award for Dance Recording ot eh Year at the Juno Awards in 1999.  It also became the first dance music album by Canadian artists ever to receive platinum certification for Canadian sales.

The band did not release any further recordings, and broke up after their second less successful album Into the Night.

At this point relations between the band founding members Denny and DJ Chris Shepherd had soured over various creative differences.

Denny then began collaborating with Widelife, performing on that band’s singles “I Don’t Want You” and “All Things (Just Keep Getting Better)”, the latter of which was best known as the theme song to the original version of reality TV show, Queer Eye.

In 2005 she released “Cliché”, the first single on which she was directly credited as a solo performer.

She later appeared as a featured vocalist on a slew of other dance singles before finally releasing her own full-length debut album, The Stereo Dynamite Sessions, Vol. 1, in 2015.

In 2020 Denny appeared on CBC Television’s New Years Eve special, singing, You’re a Superstar with artist Tyler Shaw.  She has also continued to perform live shows, mainly as part of an Electric Circus reunion bill of dance acts from the 1990s and 2000s

Having become something of a gay icon, Simone regularly performs at international dance music festivals and continues to collaborate with key industry producers and songwriters.
