Mariners Moose Tracks, 7/22/24: Ty France, Nick Castellanos, Whit Merrifield
In which the Mariners make a tough decision at first base, and Atlanta needs help all over the place.
Vive.
In Mariners news...
- The Mariners have placed Ty France on irrevocable outright waivers, first reported by Ryan Divish, a process less common and more complicated than the usual DFA. Divish would later give more details about the move and how the waiver process differs from a standard DFA, including that at least until France is either claimed or clears waivers, he will remain on the roster. Additionally, Divish is reporting that instead of the expected Tyler Locklear as the would-be replacement for France internally, Jason Vosler would be first to slot into that role this time around.
Ty France has been placed on irrevocable outright waivers. If a team claims him, he is theirs. If he clears, he is still with the Mariners and can be outrighted to the minors. Because of service time, he can refuse the outright assignment
