PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Cowboy hats are making a comeback at the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office updated its dress code on July 1, allowing on-duty deputies to wear cowboy for the first time in decades.
“You might notice our deputies sporting a new look these days,” the CCSO wrote on social media. “We are bringing back cowboy hats!”
The new policy allows deputies to wear three specific cowboy hat designs year-round, and a seasonal straw cowboy hat from May 1 to Sept. 30. Deputies who choose to wear cowboy hats must purchase the hats at their own expense.
Cowboy hat designs approved by the CCSO include:
- Stetson Corral 4x Cowboy Hat (black)
- Cody James Men’s 3x Mesquite Pro Rodeo wool hat (black)
- Yellowstone black cashmere wool (black)
- Laramie Straw Shantung (black)
“From the suburbs to the farmlands, we are proud to serve all of our Clark County community,” the CCSO said.
