Ex-Red Sox Pitcher Reportedly Designated For Assignment In Surprising Move
James Paxton reportedly will be looking for a new home ahead of the MLB trade deadline.
The Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday designated Paxton for assignment, as first reported by MLB insider Robert Murray and confirmed by ESPN’s Alden Gonzalez.
Paxton is 8-2 with a 4.43 ERA in 18 starts this season. He most recently allowed three runs on four hits in five innings against the Boston Red Sox on Sunday. LA swept Boston in the weekend series.
Paxton spent the 2023 campaign with the Red Sox as he pitched 96 innings across 19 games with a 4.50 ERA.
