This braille-embossed lid solves an overlooked problem in the beverage world

Designed in collaboration with Minalba Brasil, Ball Corp’s embossed can lid is a winner of Fast Company’s 2024 Innovation by Design Awards.

For people with low-vision, choosing a beverage isn’t as simple as reaching into a cooler and grabbing a can. In most major markets around the world, braille is not built into packaging. But a new initiative from Ball Corp and Brazilian beverage company Minalba Brasil aims to change that.
