A’s vs. Astros game thread
Looking to take the series here in game two
Last night was a well-rounded win. The pitching was there, the bats came through with timely hits, and the defense was mostly clean. We’ll be hoping for more of the same tonight here as the A’s take on the Astros in the second game of the series.
Oakland will send out right-hander Osvaldo Bido for just his second start of the season. Bido began the year in Triple-A and was the Aviators’ best pitcher for the first month-plus before getting a promotion to the Athletics for a spot start. It didn’t go great and he developed a blister that sent him to the IL. Since then he’s been both a long-reliever and short outing arm for the bullpen. Tonight he’ll get another crack at a start and he could go fairly deep if he’s rolling.

The top half of the order remains the same as yesterday. The only major difference is at third base where Abraham Toro will start after Brett Harris played yesterday.
They’ll be facing Houston’s rookie right-hander Jake Bloss, who will be making just his third career start. A top-10 prospect in the Astros farm system, Bloss didn’t make it through more than four innings in either of his previous two starts. The A’s should be able to jump on the rookie tonight.

We can secure the series win with a victory tonight and get a chance at a sweep tomorrow. Let’s go A’s!
