Donald Trump to cease outdoor rallies following attempt on his life: report

Former President Donald Trump's signature outdoor rallies are coming to an end following the attempt on his life earlier this month at a rally in Pennsylvania.

That's according to NBC News, which cited two sources familiar with his campaign’s operations.

Trump will continue to hold indoor rallies, the report said. He may also take part in small outdoor events and large rallies in venues such as stadiums, where the flow of traffic is more controlled.

The report comes after Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned following the assassination attempt in Butler, which left Trump with a bloody ear wound.

Cheatle appeared before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Monday, during which members of both parties berated her over her agents' failures.

On Saturday, Trump released a letter from his former physician, the controversial Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), outlining the ex-president's medical condition and saying it was "an absolute miracle he wasn't killed."

"The bullet passed, coming less than a quarter of an inch from entering his head, and struck the top of his right ear. The bullet track produced a 2 cm wide wound that extended down to the cartilaginous surface of the ear," the letter says. "There was initially significant bleeding, followed by marked swelling of the entire upper ear."

Trump commented to Newsmax on Tuesday night about Cheatle's resignation saying, "I just heard that she is out and she, I don’t think, had much of a choice."
