I hate the tiny Shein bikinis my 15-year-old brought on our summer holiday – she says I should be a better feminist
A MUM has revealed how Shein bikinis have caused a divide between her and her 15 year old daughter.
The parent has been left feeling embarrassed after her daughter decided to wear a tiny bikini on a family holiday.
She believes the bikini has left her with zero modesty as it “reveals her private body parts.”
The mum, who took her elderly parents and in-laws on the holiday, decided to confront her daughter about wearing such a small bikini in front of her family, but it didn’t go down well.
Taking to online forum Mumsnet, the anonymous woman wrote: “Someone talk me down please!
“On holiday with elderly parents and elderly in-laws – wonderful people.
“[The] 15 yr old DD (darling daughter) has emerged from her room to go to the pool in the smallest of bikinis. I can almost see her vagina.
“I feel f***ing ancient saying this. I hate myself for even feeling like this but she has zero modesty.”
Prior to the holiday, the mum revealed that she went shopping with her daughter in which they both picked out three bikinis from Roxy and Next.
She says: “[They were] lovely ones.
“Not one has arrived and instead she has bought, without my knowledge, four from Shein that are not for her curvy build.
“Barely any material and I’m really embarrassed.”
But her daughter thinks of others as she believes she should be “able to wear what she likes.”
The mum continues: “Confronting her has gone downhill rapidly and she’s claiming that I’m hardly a feminist as ‘she should be able to wear what she likes as it’s her body’.
“She’s not bloody wrong but what the hell happened to my daughter’s modesty.”
The argument has since caused tension between them both on the holiday.
The mum adds: “My parents and in-laws are sensing the atmosphere already and we only arrived an hour ago.”
Other parents rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts, with my not agreeing with the mum.

Another added: “She is 15. She is confident in her body. You have already said too much. Leave her.”
A third said: “Honestly, can you really “nearly see her vagina”?
“I know the fashion is skimpy these days but I’ve never seen anything that doesn’t at least cover the vulva and anal area.
“I don’t particularly like the g-string type bikinis where half their arse is on display, but it’s fashionable and they’re all wearing them.
“Unless you can actually see gynaecological detail I’d leave her be. Arse cheeks is the norm.”
