She explained that she had visited before without any issues but the prison had recently implemented a dress code for visitors that she was unaware of.
CJ’s young daughters were told they could not enter the facility wearing Crocs.
She described the new rule as “absolutely ridiculous,” pointing out that most kids wear the shoe brand.
Rather than let down her children, she decided to drive 20 minutes to the nearest shop that sold kid’s shoes.
She picked up two pairs of trainers for £46 from Next as well as spending £30 on petrol for the day’s outing.
Once inside, the family purchased some snacks to keep them going during the hours-long visit.
The children enjoyed pizza wraps, sausage rolls, crisps, chocolate, and ice cream.
However, CJ was not happy to learn that the refreshments amounted to a total of £49.
“[This] prison visit has just cost me £125, I am absolutely boiling with how today has gone,” she told her followers.
The angry mum said she was no longer going to go to the facility to see her partner due to the increasing costs and updated dress code.
“I’m not going back, I’m done with the prison visits, they want to control every little aspect of your visit, even down to your shoes,” she said.
However, TikTok users were quick to point out that prisons are known for being strict with visitors.
“The irony. A prison having rules like an actual prison should have how, awful for the poor criminals,” wrote one viewer.
“It’s prison, not Butlins,” said another follower.
