Sri Lanka is hosting the Indian team in the three ODI and three T20internationals. This series between the two teams will start from July 27. Earlier, the Sri Lankan team took the help of an Indian to improve the game of their batsmen. IPL team Rajasthan Royals’ Zubin Bharucha helped the batsmen of Sri Lanka to improve their game before the T20 series. After the Lanka Premier League, a 6-day camp was organized under his supervision. All of this was revealed by the Sri Lanka team’s head coach Sanath Jayasuriya on 24 July.
First, a T20 series will be played between India and India. In this series, Rohit, Virat and Jadeja will not be playing for India as for their retirement from the T20 International cricket. In this situation, Sri Lankan team would like to put pressure on Indian team filled with new faces at home. Jayasuriya said that even though some batsmen in Sri Lankan team have played in the Lanka Premier League, a 6-day camp has been organized for them.
“We started the sessions after the LPL. Most of our players were busy playing in the LPL and we wanted to play as much as we could. We called Zubin from Rajasthan Royals and worked for six days. During this time, other cricketers who were out of the LPL also joined. I hope the players understood what to do in terms of practice and their technique. The preparation was good and we have two days left before the T20 series,” said Jayasuriya.
Jayasuriya said that there were some serious sessions with Bharucha and players have learnt a lot from him. In international cricket, it’s important to learn new techniques, attitude and play effective shots.
