Trump's V.P. pick pens foreword to Project 2025 book after ex-president denies involvement
Heritage Foundation president Kevin Roberts, who spearheaded the "Project 2025" drafting, is publishing a new book in which he claims the far-right will take "back" Washington, D.C.
Roberts brought in one of the right-wing movement's new characters, Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), to write a review to help sell the book, and it is causing a lot of laughter and a lot of anger.
"Project 2025" is the Heritage Foundation's 900-plus-page guide to how the government will be run if Trump wins in 2024. It outlines a mass firing of civil servants, non-partisan, non-political staff, and experts who work for government agencies. They would be replaced with staff who swear an oath to Donald Trump. Other changes include eliminating the Department of Education and other agencies.
"Never before has a figure with Roberts' depth and stature within the American right tried to articulate a genuinely new future for conservatism... We are now all realizing that it's time to circle the wagons and load the muskets. In the fight that lay ahead, these ideas are an essential weapon," Vance said.

GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump claimed, “I have no idea who is behind" the Heritage Foundation's project on his Truth Social account. He reiterated the same at a Michigan rally in the weeks that followed.
Now, it turns out his vice presidential candidate is well acquainted with the organization's leader.
"Hey Diet Mountain Dew guy can you explain the foreword for the #Project2025 architect’s book?" one Democratic voter asked with a gif of a woman laughing hysterically.
"They aren’t being shy about their intentions of destroying our pluralistic democracy," warned John Roche, a poet in New Mexico.
Volunteer firefighter J.C. Martin explained: "The Heritage Foundation wrote Project 2025. The Heritage Foundation recommended Kavanaugh to Trump for SCOTUS. JD Vance wrote the Forward to The Heritage Foundation founder’s book. Trump added JD Vance to his ticket. But , Trump 'never heard' of Project 2025."
Sophie Katherine G. was confused about the book's title. "Save it from what....exactly? America is looked at by the world as a light, a shining light for everyone to emulate. So what exactly is Kevin scared of? Different races having a say for a change? An America that isn't as lily-white as he wants it to be? Women not to vote? What??"
"This same Kevin Roberts is the one who said, 'We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be.' Vance wrote the forward to his book," asked a Kansas City Chiefs fan.
The reference is to a thread that Roberts wrote for X in which he explained, “Americans in 2024 are in the process of carrying out the Second American Revolution to take power back from the elites and despotic bureaucrats. These patriots are committed to peaceful revolution at the ballot box."
"The Left may not allow a peaceful transfer of power," he then said.
