Amsterdam man charged with burglary, grand larceny

AMSTERDAM, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office announced that an Amsterdam man has been arrested following a theft investigation. Christopher Giglio, 19, was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree grand larceny.

Giglio is accused of unlawfully entering the garage of a home in the town of Florida back in April and allegedly stealing multiple musical instruments and a shotgun from the victim. Giglio was taken into custody on July 23 after surrendering himself to deputies, and the stolen items have since been recovered.

Giglio was arraigned at the Florida Town Court before being released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to return to court in August.
