Mets Sign First-Rounder Carson Benge

New York Mets first-round pick Carson Benge announced on Instagram he has signed with the team. The 21-year-old split his time between pitching and playing outfield for Oklahoma State this season.
The junior posted a triple-slash of .335/.444/.665 for the year with 18 homers and 64 RBIs. On the mound, he posted a 3.16 ERA over 37 innings with 44 strikeouts and a 1.00 WHIP.
The Mets have now signed every pick from the 2024 draft except for ninth-rounder RHP Jaxon Jelkin and 20th-rounder SS Adam Haight.

The New York Mets announced they’ve signed eight of their 2024 MLB draft picks, including second-rounder lefty Jonathan Santucci. These are the first draft pick signings of 2024.
Jim Callis of MLB Pipeline reports the Mets gave Santucci full slot value of $2,031,700 for the 46th overall pick.
The Mets’ full bonus draft pool is $9,572,200.
The other seven picks the Mets announced:
- 8th RD Ryan Lambert, RHP
- 10th RD Brendan Girton, RHP
- 11th RD Nick Roselli, 2B
- 12th RD Ethan Lanthier, RHP
- 13th RD R.J. Gordon, RHP
- 17th RD Jacoby Long, OF
- 19th RD Frank Elissalt, RHP
The Mets also announced they’ve signed non-drafted players RHP Channing Austin, RHP Hoss Brewer, RHP Hayden Cooper, RHP Eldridge Armstrong and RHP Hunter Hodges.
