Furious Love Island fans slam show as a ‘fix’ and threaten to call Ofcom after ‘wrong’ couple dumped from villa
LOVE Island fans are in uproar after claiming the “wrong couple” went home in yesterday’s shock dumping.
On Wednesday night’s show, Grace Jackson and Reuben Collins were sent home after a brutal game of A Couple of Sorts.
After being voted the least likely couple to survive in the outside world, the islanders were informed the public agreed – and as a result they were dumped.
With just five days to go before the final, viewers were disappointed to see the pair go, even branding it a “fix” worthy of a complaint to Ofcom.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), fans raged about them wanting Joey Essex out instead, after getting angry at his behaviour in the past two weeks towards ex-girlfriend Grace.
Joey and his partner Jessy came second in the islanders vote.
“GRACE & REUBEN HAVE LEFT THE VILLA BEFORE SEAN & JOEY?!!?!! OFCOM!!! OFCOM!!! OFCOM!!!,” wrote one.
“someone send ofcom’s number with HASTE #loveisland” noted a second.
“Shows it was a fix, the public would have voted for them, but producers have saved them,” wrote a third.
While a fourth said: “If the final isn’t Ciaran & Nicole, Josh & Mimi, Ayo & Jess. Then it’s a f**king fix. Joey will only be in the final cause it was in his contract to go on the show.”
“GRACE AND REUBEN DUMPED? WHILE JOEY AND SEAN GET TO REMAIN? OFCOM, YOUR PHONE WILL BE RINGING IN THE NEXT 2 MINUTES,” raged a fifth.
“That dumping felt like a fix because who was really voting Grace and Reuben for all the negative questions and not Joey or Sean?” questioned a sixth.
Speaking after the exit, Grace said: “I feel good about leaving the Villa, it’s been a rocky road but I’m pleased with how I handled everything as gracefully as I possibly could.
“It’s been an incredible experience and I’ve loved every second of it. I’m leaving with what I came in for with Reuben and to make it to the final week with all of the other Islanders is amazing.”
She later added: “I gave it my best shot and left with the best guy. Reuben is stunning and has the best personality, he’s exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
With five couples remaining in the villa, it seems likely there will be at least one more dumping before the finale on Monday night.
On Monday, the winning couple will be crowned, taking home a £50,000 prize.
