ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Happy Thursday! According to Meteorologists Matt Mackie and Kevin Appleby, today will bring clear skies and a drop in humidity with the temperature sitting in the high 70s as the day goes on and the potential to hit the low to mid 80s.
Albany Medical Center received $100,000 from Hyundai Hope on Wheels to help support patients and families following cancer treatment. Also, the National Transportation Safety Board released its preliminary report on the Delaware County plane crash that took the lives of four passengers and the pilot. 1. Albany Medical Center receives $100K grant
The Melodies Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Albany Medical Center received $100,000 from Hyundai Hope on Wheels on Wednesday. This award will go toward the center’s Survivorship Program to support families and patients following cancer treatment.
2. Preliminary report on Delaware County plane crash released
The National Transportation Safety Board has released a preliminary investigation report on the Delaware County plane crash. The crash occurred on June 30 at around 1:55 p.m. and resulted in the pilot and four passengers being fatally injured.
3. 50 Amsterdam veterans honored at the Spa
It was a special day at the Saratoga Race Course. America’s Pastime Stables, with the help of sponsors and assemblyman Angelo Santabarbara, organized a free trip for 50 veterans, busing them with a police escort from Amsterdam to the Spa.
4. Nearly 30 vacant buildings to be demolished in Schenectady
The Capital Region Land Bank is set to demolish 27 blighted and vacant buildings in Schenectady. Nine of the demolitions are anticipated to start shortly.
5. Two Capital Region banks to merge, change names
Arrow Financial Corporation, which owns both Glens Falls National Bank and Trust Company and Saratoga National Bank and Trust Company, has finalized a merger between the two. The banks will be renamed as Arrow Bank.
