Kit Harington Shows Off Ripped Physique in Backstage Photo

It's now been more than five years since Game of Thrones ended its eight-season run, but it seems safe to say that Kit Harington has kept up with his Jon Snow physique, and then some.

The 37-year-old actor is currently starring in a West End production of playwright Jeremy O. Harris' Tony-nominated Slave Play. The charged, three-act play follows three interracial couples who turn to something called "Antebellum Sexual Performance Therapy" when the Black partners no longer feel sexually attracted to their white partners.

The latest production kicked off on June 29 at London's Noël Coward Theatre and is scheduled to run through September 21. To celebrate the first few weeks of the show's run, as well as West End's first "Black Out" night, which involved two performances available exclusively for audience members of color, Harris shared a gallery of cast photos, candid shots, and video footage of audience members.

"This has been a once in a lifetime experience can’t wait to do it again," Harris wrote in the caption of the post. And although he's not on social media, eagle-eyed fans couldn't help notice one backstage photo in which Harington appears shirtless, looking as buff as ever.

It didn't take long for that image, in particular, to make its way to X, formerly Twitter, as one fan account all-caps gushed: "KIT HARINGTON I HAVE NO WORDS."

Given his fandom, both Harris and Harington were all too cognizant of the unwanted attention his fame might bring to the production. In an interview with The Guardian earlier this year, Harris admitted that he doesn't generally believe that you need a "marquee name" to sell tickets.

"It’s something that takes away from great theatre because people treat it like a Disney World attraction, where the play is background to the amusement of seeing their favourite celebrity in front of them," he explained.

"Kit was saying 'I don’t want this to be 'Kit Harington in Slave Play,' this is an ensemble play and I’m not even the lead,'" Harris recalled. "He knows the weight his name carries and how that could become a distraction, if we allowed it to be."

Nope, no distractions detected.
