Rickea Jackson signs shoe deal with Skechers, becomes brands first WNBA player
Rickea Jackson adds another impressive accomplishment to her outstanding rookie season by signing a shoe contract with Skechers.
Whether you look at TV ratings, crowd attendance, or the upcoming media rights deal, it’s clear the WNBA is growing astronomically.
That growth and interest make WNBA players that much more desirable for shoe companies and Los Angeles Spark Rickea Jackson has garnered that intrigue and signed with Skechers for a shoe deal.
Jackson has become the first WNBA player to sign a deal with Skechers and talked with Sneaker Game about what it means to sign such a trailblazing contract.
“Being the first WNBA player to join the Skechers roster is an incredible feeling,” Jackson told Sneaker Game. “The brand is a rising star in the sports world.”
Jackson is quickly becoming a fan favorite in Los Angeles. She established herself as a starter early on in the season and is averaging 11.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in her rookie campaign.
With her growing popularity, exceptional play and being in Los Angeles, one of the biggest markets in America, this partnership with Skechers makes a ton of sense.
Jackson gets a shoe deal and Skechers begins to establish a place in women’s basketball and a potential home for more WNBA players looking for a shoe contract.

It’s good to see Jackson looking at unique opportunities and capitalizing on them. Her teammate Cameron Brink took a similar action, being the first WNBA player to sign with New Balance.
Skechers is entering the WNBA world, but they are no strangers to signing professional basketball players.
This past year, Skechers signed Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid, New York Knicks All-Star Julius Randle and LA Clippers forward Terance Mann. So, while Jackson is the first WNBA player to sign with the brand, it’s unlikely that she will be the last.
Now, both Los Angeles rookies have shoe contracts, as Cameron Brink became the first WNBA player signed to New Balance earlier this year. And with Dearcia Hamby having a shoe deal with Jordan Brand, you see that three of the core players and the future of the Sparks are signed not only to the team but to lucrative shoe deals.
Details on everything this contract will entail are still not certain, but Skechers will highlight Jackson in future campaigns.
Hopefully, part of those future campaigns will include a massive billboard in downtown Los Angeles highlighting Jackson as a Skechers athlete.
