Shawn Johnson Shares Swoon-Worthy Video of Husband Andrew East Creating a Core Memory With Daughter Drew
Shawn Johnson and Andrew East are on their way to Paris for the Olympics, and they’ve brought their three kiddos with them. And, of course, they had to make a pitstop along the way. Whether it was for logistics or funsies, the Johnson-East family went to London, and we are living for the content.
Especially the swoon-worthy video that the decorated gymnast posted of her husband and their 4-year-old daughter Drew.
“My husband wanted to dress up and take our daughter for tea at a fancy place while we were in London…” Johnson wrote over the video that’s set to “That’s Amore.” She pans over the stunning outdoor restaurant in the center of their hotel before landing on the retired NFL player and Drew seated at a balcony table.
Drew looks so cute in a blue dress with pink ribbons in her hair, and she seems to be taking the stirring of the tea very seriously while East looks at her adoringly.
OK, who started cutting onions?!
Whether or not she took a sip remains to be seen, but it was the most precious little moment that makes for such a special core memory for the father and daughter — and a swoon-worthy one for Johnson.
“This is the sweetest ????????,” she captioned the video. “@andrewdeast was not going to leave London without doing this.”
Fans were just as moved as we were.
“Absolutely love this, what an AWESOME dad. She will cherish that forever! ????????????” “Oh my word just precious! ????????” “this is the cutest thing ????????” “Core memory activated, how sweet❤️”
It seems we are always swooning and wiping away happy tears when we see videos of East and Drew. In October, he shared one that still lives rent-free in our minds.
“I’m simultaneously ecstatic and grieving,” he captioned some baby monitor footage of him and Drew in her room. The sound is no longer available, but you can see via the captions that he said, “I need you to stop growing up,” he said, sitting on her bed. “Alright? What am I going to do when you’re not my baby girl?”
“I’ll still — I’ll love you so, so much,” she said.
“I’m just — I’m getting a little scared,” he admitted.
“It’s OK,” she said, jumping up and wrapping him in a big hug before she started wiping away what he assured her were happy tears. She then gave him a big kiss on the lips before they started to cuddle.
Again! Someone is cutting onions! And with the East, Drew, and her little brothers Jett and Bear headed to Paris to cheer on Johnson as she covers the Games, we’re sure there will be many more happy tears to come.
