Fans ask ‘is this legal?’ as they are left stunned by Paris Olympics swimmer’s outfit
A DUTCH swimmer has left sports fans stunned at his choice of trunks at the Olympic Games.
Arno Kamminga, 28, lined up alongside British superstar Adam Peaty in Sunday’s 100 metre breaststroke final.
Kamminga ended up finishing sixth in the 100 metre breaststroke final[/caption]But he had already raised eyebrows before getting into the water due to the colour of swimwear he was showing off.
The shade of orange used on the thighs of Kamminga’s shorts made it appear as though he could have been naked.
And it certainly caught the eye of those on social media.
One fan said: “I have a couple of questions.”
While another replied: “IN PUBLIC? IS THIS LEGAL?”
And after the race a third jokingly responded: “Arno Kamminga you are still so important to me.”
Kamminga finished sixth in the final with a time of 59.32 seconds, 0.27 adrift of the medals.
Italy’s Nicolo Martinenghi claimed gold in 59.03, two hundredths ahead of defending champion Peaty – who shared silver with USA’s Nic Fink.

The result sees Peaty narrowly miss out on a third Olympic 100m breaststroke gold, but does take his medal tally at the Games to six [three gold and three silver].
Speaking after the race, he said: “It’s not sad at all These are happy tears.
“If you’re willing to put yourself on the line every single time, I think there’s no such thing as a loss. I’m so happy the right man won.
“I’m not defining myself by a medal. I define myself by my heart and what it has made me feel and produce. It’s got the best out of me.
“It’s broken me, this sport, but it’s also given me life, it’s given me everything I am and I am happy to stand here with not really any answers to what that performance is but a happy heart and that is all that matters.”
