The government released nearly Rs 370 crore to over 4.29 lakh depositors of Sahara Group through an online portal following a Supreme Court order. The CRCS-Sahara refund portal launched on July 18, 2023, allows legitimate depositors of four cooperative societies to claim refunds. Disbursement is monitored by Justice R Subhash Reddy, with a deadline extended to December 31, 2024. Sebi has realized Rs 15,775.50 crore from Sahara entities, reinvesting in nationalised banks.
